Trainee Histotech (Lab Technician) | Full-Time / On-Site in Urbana, IL | Starting at $25/hour (based on experience)

This is a unique opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive, hands-on environment alongside experienced professionals in the field of dermatopathology.

As a Trainee, you will gain valuable experience in tissue processing, staining techniques, and lab operations — all while working toward certification as a Histotechnician (HT/HTL) within approximately one year. We’re committed to your growth and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in tissue specimen preparation (grossing, embedding, microtomy)
• Learn and perform IHC and special stains under supervision
• Maintain accurate lab records and follow safety protocols
• Support lab operations and equipment maintenance
• Collaborate with dermatopathologists and lab team members

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
• Strong interest in histology, pathology, or lab sciences
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform lab setup tasks

Preferred (but not required)

• Prior lab or healthcare experience
• Familiarity with lab equipment or EHR/LIS systems
