About the Role:

As a full-time certified Histotechnician/Histotechnologist (HT/HTL) in our Dermatology and Pathology lab, you will play a critical role in the preparation and analysis of tissue samples. Our lab operates Monday through Friday, giving you the valuable benefit of weekends free to relax and recharge. We are a growing lab but maintain the ideal of enjoying your work! Our workload is manageable and allows you to enjoy the company of your teammates while still feeling the passion for Histology! Your responsibilities will include:

  • Grossing, Embedding, Microtomy, and Staining: Skillfully handle and prepare tissue samples for our esteemed Dermatopathologist’s review.
  • Prioritization and Accuracy: Execute IHC and Special Stain procedures with precision while maintaining accurate and comprehensive records in compliance with established policies and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure efficient lab operations and deliver outstanding results.

We’re also open to a trainee who may be eager to advance their career in histotechnology! (Please inquire, if you have a Bachelor’s in Chemistry or Biology)

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Required Certification: You must hold a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification from ASCP. Experienced but uncertified individuals are encouraged to apply with the understanding that they will sit for their boards within one year of starting.
  • Hands-On Experience: Prior experience with autostainers, microtomes, and embedding centers, along with proficiency in Pathology LIS systems.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous nature in verifying patient data and maintaining quality standards is essential.
  • Medical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in medical terminology and experience working in a medical EMR system.
  • Field Experience: 2+ years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting; experience in a dermatology environment is a plus.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to maintain laboratory instruments.
