Job Summary:
VitalSkin Dermatology is seeking a Patient Advocate to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position should have previous experience in healthcare insurance processing.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or Foreign Equivalent
- Three years of experience working in a physician's office in a similar position handling revenue cycle management duties.
- Ability to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups within and outside the organization.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team with a commitment to meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Certification as a Biller
- Experience in billing and collecting for Dermatology services

Responsibilities:
- Greet and courteously respond to callers' questions and concerns, processing customer inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
- Accurately update patient health plan information as needed.
- Follow up on claims when necessary.
- Process patient collections according to policy and procedure.
- Handle the processing of patient statements.
- Resolve coding edits within 24 hours and work towards finding long-term solutions.
