Patient Service Representative | Primarily Urbana, with occasional travel to Decatur & Mattoon

VitalSkin Dermatology is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong medical front office (administrative) experience who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting and is comfortable traveling between offices as needed.

Full-time, On-site | Flexibility Required: Hours may vary based on surgical schedules | Comp: $17-$19/hour (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide a superior front-office experience
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and process prior authorizations
• Register new patients and assist with forms and consents
• Collect and record payments, update demographic and financial data
• Maintain accurate records and ensure HIPAA compliance
• Support daily administrative tasks including check-in/out, phone triage, and correspondence
• Travel to Decatur regularly for training and coverage; occasional travel to Mattoon
• Adjust work hours based on surgical schedules — flexibility is essential

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of customer service experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in office systems and software (word processing, spreadsheets, EMR)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain professionalism under pressure

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years in a dermatology or healthcare office
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
• Experience with patient scheduling and prior authorizations
